SM-Series

Smidcrete® Single-Ply Membrane System

The SM-Series model is best suited for installation on intermediate slabs of multi-level garages, as well as buried joint applications on garage roof slabs.

The Smidcrete®/SM-Series System is an expansion joint product designed for parking garage structures. The SM-Series model is best suited for installation on intermediate slabs of multi-level garages, as well as buried joint applications on garage roof slabs (see Smidcrete® "Buried Joint" section).

The design features an extruded preformed elastomeric membrane, which is fusion-bonded to the concrete slab deck with Smidcrete® Elastomeric Concrete. The installed system provides a watertight seal while flexing in response to movement in the expansion joint width, as the structure is subjected to seasonal temperature changes.

Buried Joint

SR-Series

Smidcrete® Steel Rail System SR-Series/Strip Seal

Single seal system that forms a completely watertight closure and handles multi-directional movements to 4 inches.

The SR Strip Seal is a single seal system that forms a completely watertight closure of the gap of an expansion joint and handles multi-directional movements to 4". The system features an elastomeric sealing element that, by its internal folding action, absorbs the entire movement scheme at the joint and is gripped in steel edge sections secured to the deck via anchorage and Smidcrete® Elastomeric Concrete.

HD-Series

HD Heavy Duty Parking Deck System

High Impact System designed to minimize damage from snow removal on parking decks and handle multi-directional movements.

Smidcrete® HD Heavy Duty System is designed specifically for parking garage structures. The system can withstand high impact loading and handle multi-directional movements. The seal can be replaced and heat welded to similar seal in the CS-series and thereby reduce installation and maintenance costs.

Elastometric Concrete Material

Urethane/epoxy blend that resists wear due to impacting of vehicular loadings, and resists cracking at low temperatures.

The Smidcrete® C is a rapid-setting ambient-cured polyurethane material compounded with a silicate/sand mixture to form a durable nosing material for expansion joint applications. It has excellent flexibility and load bearing characteristics, and is not prone to cracking or spalling.
Applications include parking decks, access ramp and bridge decks where vehicles generate excessive loadings. It can be used in conjunction with a number of expansion joint systems, including the SM, CS, AR, SR & HD Systems.


The Smidcrete® C Elastomeric Concrete secures the expansion joint profile to the concrete deck. The product outperforms traditional nosing materials such as concrete, epoxy and asphalts. These materials historically experienced breakdowns due to cracking, and therefore allowed moisture and corrosives to penetrate and deteriorate the concrete deck. The result enabled the moisture to go around the expansion joint system to the joint gap, and ultimately debond and break apart the nosing itself.
